I was on a journey to watch and review one movie every 24 hours. That became tiresome. I'm now much less ambitious and moved to a more manageable pace of one movie review every now and then. The blog title remains the same...I'm too lazy to think of a new one. Disclaimer: I'm using a VPN to bypass all security protocols in order to stream netflix movies/tv shows. Do not judge. This is survival.

Day 5 - Repo Men

Good movie as I understand it's not for everyone as most people like brainless movies that make COMPLETE sense and hold their hands throughout the entire movie and tell them what to think. Especially the ending. Most people don't like a movie for the simple fact that the ending isn't happily ever after. But you know what? That's real life. Most people live horrible lives. This is a bit of a thinker and definitely promotes a bit of good discussion afterwards. You want another movie that's a discussion movie AND doesn't have a "happily ever after" ending? The Box is surprisingly good.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the Box is good in the sense that I hated it and wanted to talk about why I hated it for awhile after the credits rolled. At first I thought the movie was going somewhere, as if it had a point. But, then nothing. No point other than human beings are messed up people. I really didn't need to sit through 2 hours to come to that conclusion. At least Cameron Diaz acted well and James Marsden decided to act in a non-romantic comedy for once. But, I expected more from the man who wrote and directed Donnie Darko.
